On the eve of the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine, the 27th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine and the 100th anniversary of the revival of the Ukrainian state, the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko congratulated the mariners with outstanding dates.
This time the event began not only with the new congratulations ‘Glory to Ukraine – Heroes of Glory’, but it was carried out in a format typical for NATO member states.

After the execution of the personnel of the State Anthem of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko outlined the state and prospects for the development of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

– Our ideological component is aimed at strengthening the will to fight for independence, revival in the society of the genetic memory of the nation of naval commanders and seamen, resolutely getting rid of the consequences of the ‘Soviet’, the destruction of the foundations of Russian ideology, ‘the commander of the national fleet said. – Warriors of the Ukrainian Navy from 2014 perform combat missions in the zone of ATO, and now in the OOS.
In the battles with the occupants, we lose the best siblings, the military sailors, who, at the expense of their lives, stop Russian aggression at the cost of their lives, ‘the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted, and with the present, with a minute of silence, he paid tribute to those who gave up their lives for the independence and will of their homeland.

– Over the past year we have achieved a lot – Marine command and Marine Corps were created and acquired, naval bases were reformed, 4 small armored artillery boats were received.
Currently, two landing boats, the seventh small armored artillery boat are being built, the Hetman Sagaidachny frigate is being gradually modernized, the next stage of the test of the Neptun cruise missile has been successfully completed, which in the near future will strengthen our combat capabilities for the defense of Ukraine from the sea, ‘he added.

Also, a number of measures are ongoing on the reform of the naval education system, international cooperation, the improvement of the organizational structure of forces, the strengthening of the armament of the coastal component, and the improvement of the comprehensive support system.

The event was completed with awarding the best troops of departmental awards.
Vice Admiral Igor Voronchenko thanked the staff for the service, wished for a strong fleet health, Cossack victories, excitement and strength of the spirit.
